Death is an American musical group formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1971 by brothers Bobby, David, and Dannis Hackney. The trio initially started as a funk group but quickly switched their style to rock after seeing concerts by the Who and Alice Cooper. They are considered a pioneering proto-punk band, known for their raw sound and influence on punk rock.
