Operation Ivy

Operation Ivy was an American punk rock band from Berkeley, California, formed in May 1987. They were critical to the emergence of Lookout Records and the so-called "East Bay Sound." The band's name was derived from the Operation Ivy series of nuclear tests in 1952. They merged hardcore velocity with peppy two-step rhythms and were influential in the ska punk genre. The band was only active for two years, disbanding in 1989 after releasing their only studio album, "Energy."
