Makari

Makari is an American progressive‑rock / post‑hardcore outfit from Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2011 by guitarists Matt Beljan and Eric Stewart, bassist John Tomasso and drummer Kevin Beljan, the band quickly gained attention for its shimmering, atmospheric guitars and soaring melodies. After a run of independent EPs they signed to InVogue Records, releasing the well‑received *Elegies* EP (2016) and full‑length debut *Hyperreal* (2018). Since recruiting vocalist Andy Cizek in 2017, Makari have toured nationally with scene peers such as Hail the Sun and Kurt Travis, while maintaining a strong DIY ethic and interactive online fan‑base. Now independent again, the quintet continue to expand their lush, emotive sound on the 2024 album *Wave Machine* and remain an active force in the modern post‑hardcore community.
