Bowery Electric was an American band formed in New York in 1993 by Lawrence Chandler and Martha Schwendener. They released three albums between 1995 and 2000, including the critically praised Beat. Their music defies easy classification and incorporates elements of ambient, drone, shoegaze, space rock, and trip-hop.
